Serving as a Reviewer for AIES 2026

I recently served as a reviewer for the AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics, and Society (AIES), an international conference addressing the ethical and societal implications of artificial intelligence.

Through my artistic practice and research, I have been exploring what AI recognizes as “normal” and what it excludes as an outlier. Reading and evaluating the work of other researchers made me reflect on peer review itself as another act of classification—one that determines what is recognized as significant knowledge and what remains outside its boundaries.

While I cannot discuss the content of the submissions, it was a valuable opportunity to engage with emerging research on AI bias, ethics, and society, and to contribute feedback to the field.

Moving between artistic practice and academic research, I hope to continue examining the responsibility involved in classification in the age of AI.
